No Life - Delinquent (EP Review)

No Life - Delinquent (EP Review)

INTRODUCTION

Hot off the heels of their most recent single, No Life is bringing the heat with their Delinquent EP. If you have heard No Life's Knives Edge single and enjoyed it this EP is for you. It boasts a wide range of nu-metalcore, deathcore, and countless other influences. I was lucky enough to hear "Delinquent" before the release and it is one of my most anticipated EPs of the year. "Delinquent" releases 08/03/23, pre-save it today so you will not miss it. "Delinquent" has groove, it has soul, and the album is a masterpiece of the genre. From the highest highs to the lowest lows "Delinquent" is a journey from start to finish.

THE REVIEW SONGS 1 - 3

"The Lies We Told Ourselves" is the first track of "Delinquent" and it starts the party off right. Heading at breakneck speeds right into the music this track hits everything perfectly. This track is a powerhouse that brings an intense movement that sets up the rest of the EP incredibly. No Life hits all the right moves with "The Lies We Told Ourselves", it'll have you grooving a ton. This band hits that "No Life" call-out in the middle and I was already out of my chair. No Life ends "The Lies We Told Ourselves" with an intense breakdown that left me feeling anxious for more.

The next song is titled "Look Inside," and it follows up the previous track with more of that No Life goodness. Intense and constantly moving "Look Inside" is a great track. With some groovy breakdowns, it really shows the work that No Life put into this EP. The ability to bend the genre to No Life's will is on full display. The little beats that they use in conjunction with the guitar's prowess is a masterstroke of genius.

"Knives Edge" is the third track off the "Delinquent" EP and it is just as great as the first time I heard it. I previously reviewed this track a while ago and my opinions are largely the same. "Knives Edge" is great to hear it in the context of the album and the framing that they used to release it. "Knives Edge" is a great track and you need to hear it today!

SONGS 4 - 6

The fourth song on "Delinquent" is titled "Puke", it has a cool feature from the boys in Plague Of The Fallen. A melancholic sound of discordant chugs frames this song from the onset. Perpetually holding onto that creepy sound in the background throughout the song pulls you in further and further. "Puke" gets heavy quickly, with some aggressive breakdowns sprinkled throughout this track putting you on a rollercoaster without rails. It's got to be my favorite of the "Delinquent" EP.

"Snake Eyes" comes in at song number five on "Delinquent." The atmosphere built up to this point throughout the EP comes to mighty fruition in my eyes. "Snake Eyes" has the most technicality of all the songs. It shows that No Life has a massive understanding of the genre they are in. They pull so many parts together and make it work in such a concise way that you can't help but be impressed. "Snake Eyes" stands on its own as a song destined for greatness and No Life as a band that can stand the test of time.

Last but definitely not least at song number six is "Alone." It caps off the "Delinquent" EP and it is a song that is all killer no filler. "Alone" grooves, it moves, it is a world apart from the other songs on "Delinquent." "Alone" is one of those songs I had to listen to multiple times. This track is insane in all the best ways. This track slows down towards the end with a massive breakdown that gets you punching the air around you. Insanity reigns supreme and it pulls off some incredible riffs in this song.

FINAL WORDS

Do not miss No Life's "Delinquent" EP coming out on August 3rd of this year. It is one of my most anticipated albums of the year. No Life has really hit the ball out of the park and I believe that it will fundamentally change the genres of Deathcore and Metalcore for the better.

They have a tour going on for the promotion of "Delinquent" starting in September. The dates are as follows:
